Super-Gold and Matt Steele take the Gold in the FAI World Championships for Space Models

The U.S. Spacemodeling team competed in the FAI World Championships for Space Models August 22-30 in the Ukraine against 17 other countries. Matt Steele from Sandy, UT, who uses BSI's Super-Gold CAs, Insta-Set, Quik-Cure and Slow-Cure for the construction of all his rockets, came back with some hardware – an individual Gold Medal, a team Gold Medal and a team Silver medal. Matt says, "I've been an avid fan of the Bob Smith product line for many, many years, and I only use the Gold label products for my CA needs - it takes gold to win gold. BSI makes great stuff."

Artistic Polymer Clay Pens Use BSI Super-Gold+ Adhesive Finish

BSI Super-Gold Plus - Super Gold+ - Bob Smith Adhesives

BSI CA's are used by many woodworkers and artists in the making of custom writing pens. The artist for these creations is Toni Ransfield. She does the polymer clay work and Ed Street finishes the pens with BSI Super-Gold+.
The Super-Gold+ is used as a coating on the outside of the pen. It gives the pen a super deep 3D look.

Insta-Cure - BSI CA - Model Boat - PVC - Fiberglass - BSI Adhesives
A:  Epoxy does not form the strongest bond to PVC. We would recommend laying the dry cloth down on the PVC and then saturating the cloth with Insta-Cure, or Super-Gold thin CA. You should apply just enough CA to create a bond between the cloth and the plastic. Then you can fill the texture of the weave with our Finish-Cure epoxy and sand it down smooth. Carefully applying a heat gun to

Safe Use of Adhesives

Before using any adhesive, adequate ventilation of your work area needs to be addressed. A window or door should be open and/or a small fan placed to circulate the air over your workbench. When using CA, especially super-thin INSTA-CURE, always loosen the top and then retighten it before carefully cutting off the end of the nozzle. This relieves any pressure that may have built-up inside the bottle that could cause the CA to spurt out. This is definitely an issue when CA is used at higher altitudes. Never have the bottle pointing close to your face while opening it.
